Healthcare reform? How about Lifecare reform!

Observing Congress scurrying about in a supposed attempt to "reform healthcare" causes one to not know whether to laugh or cry sometimes. Allow my humble right wing extremist, nazi, angry mob member, religion clinging, gun nut, barely functioning retarded adult self to try and put things in perspective.

These idiots we call our elected officials want to "reform healthcare", but they can't even get the simplest and most fundamental job they have right. That would be upholding the Constitution of the United States and ensuring the safety of the American people from foreign enemies by simply maintaining our sovereignty as a nation. Of course, I'm referring to the situation along the Southern border. Now, to anybody with a lick of common sense (God knows that's in short order these days) it seems simple enough; the government should be doing more to secure the border instead of allowing political correctness and voting groups to get in the way. A quick glance at our constitution reveals that and a lot more.

I need not remind anyone who follows the "news" (or lack there of it) about how bad the situation is along the Southern border. Heavily armed Mexican and or international drug cartels are running a muck and it's been spilling over into our border states. American citizens are being kidnapped and murdered by these thugs, in the United States! The government's response; a whole lot of nothing except of course to apologize to the Mexican government for not helping them more and to blame American firearm dealers for the fully automatic weapons, rocket propelled grenades and hand grenades etc. the drug cartels have gotten their hands on. What our public servants (LOL) should be doing instead of worrying about their next election campaign and dreaming up newer and better ways to destroy our country is reading the Constitution.

Article I Section 8 of the Constitution, The Powers of Congress, states that Congress has the power to "Raise and support Armies" and to "Provide and maintain a Navy". Great. Of course they don't even really want to do that, Obama and the rest of the Dems are willing to spend trillions of our tax dollars on everything except defense, but don't get me started. The interesting part is as follows, in addition to the obvious Article I Section 8 also states that Congress has the power "To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and REPEL INVASIONS". Additionally, Congress has the power "To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia, and for governing such part of them as may be employed in service of the United States, reserving to the states respectively, the appointment of the officers, and the authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress". Hmmm... where else does the Constitution talk about a "Militia"? Oh wait, I know, the Second Amendment; "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED". Now, this wonderful system of checks and balances we have recently (and just barely) did its job when the Supreme Court reaffirmed that "people" actually means people, not just the National Guard and the military. Duh. So, the Second Amendment says that armed civilians are just as important to our nation's security as the military proper. The Constitution clearly differentiates between the military, Army/Navy, and Militias a.k.a. armed civilians. Now, some would consider our National/State Guard troops to be our modern day Militia and only them. I contend; what about our modern day minute men? It's my belief that armed civilians as well as the national guard and military have a right to defend their selves and their country in at least as much as one's country is the bastion and protection of their liberty. The active patrol and enforcement of the border IS a job best left to the National Guard. However, the armed citizen has every right to defend themselves, their property and their nation from foreign aggression as well. Liberals like to throw around the phrase; "Power to the people". Well, that's exactly what I'm advocating. Let these drug dealing, murderous scumbags fear not only border patrol and the National Guard, but the average person. Make no mistake about it, armed civilians have throughout our history discouraged foreign invasion and we still can. Additionally, Article I Section 10, Powers Prohibited of States says that "No state shall... engage in war, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent danger as will not admit delay". Add it all together and it's reasonable to conclude that our government should quit inhibiting and discouraging the people from defending themselves against this very real threat. In fact, it's quite reasonable to surmise that the state of Texas for example has every right to send its guard troops to the border and start taking care of business despite the objections of the political weenies in Washington. Instead of going on apology tours throughout Central America, blaming the American people for the situation and providing the Mexican military with our much needed military supplies (much of which will be turned against us) our government officials should be doing the job they swore to do when they took their oaths of office; I could be wrong, but I believe it goes something like "I swear to defend and uphold the Constitution".

I challenge all of you politicians to first take our lives seriously before you even think about medaling with our health thank you very much!

Hudson Crash

I love how every time something like this happens politicians, most of who are clueless when it comes to aviation, feel it necessary to issue statements like "amateur hour over New York City is over". They have no idea what they're talking about and it drives me nuts. I'm a pilot and have flown the Hudson River corridor. There’s nothing any Air Traffic Controller could’ve done to prevent that crash. There's a notion in the country that if it weren't for A.T.C. there’d be midair collisions all over the place and aircraft would be falling out of the sky. I contend that if A.T.C. were to suddenly disappear one day every aircraft in the country would land safely. Pilots are pretty smart and quite capable of navigating themselves. The airspace above the Hudson can only be flown during good weather or V.F.R. (Visual Flight Rules) in the first place. Then it's up to the pilots to communicate via the Hudson River C.T.A.F. (Common Traffic Advisory Frequency). They're common at small airports all over. Now I'm not the N.T.S.B. but after seeing the video of the crash it's apparent what happened; the Piper, a low wing plane, was flying along when this aircraft with the odd ability to go straight up, a helicopter, suddenly appeared in front of it. Tragic yes, at least for the passengers, but any pilot worth their wings knows every time they strap an aircraft on it could be their last. The politicians immediately look for somebody to blame; A.T.C, the F.A.A. Maybe nobody's to blame. My hope is that the F.A.A. doesn't capitulate to political pressure and impose flight restrictions on the Hudson River Corridor. We don't close the L.I.E. every time there's an accident. I look forward to the next time I fly the Corridor and promise I'll be putting my eyeballs to good use because they are the RADAR in that part of the sky. Rest assured, I nor any other pilot is an "amateur". Whether we fly for an airline or just for recreation we are all highly trained and take flying very seriously.
